The visa-free position

Staying longer

• Financially independent person (FIP) visa. Greece's passive-income residence route: demonstrate stable income above the current threshold (raised in recent years; verify before planning), plus accommodation and health cover, with no Greek employment.
• Golden visa. Residence via property investment still exists, but minimum investment levels rose sharply and vary by region; treat any figure you read as provisional and check current rules.

The tax line

Spending more than 183 days in Greece in a year generally makes you Greek tax resident, taxable on worldwide income, with centre-of-vital-interests tests behind it.
